Buggies/Strollers

G
iven that fully feature-loaded pushchairs tend to have weight and size issues that could compete with the Titanic, is it any surprise that as baby gets older, mums purchase a second set of somewhat smaller and lighter wheels? This is despite the fact that many pushchairs are suitable not only for new born babies but also for strapping toddlers. It seems that mum is simply looking for something easier to use.

A buggy can vary from the relatively cheap – nothing more than a seat on wheels with little padding and no recline but usually light in weight – to buggies which, in all honesty, could be classified as ‘suitable from birth.’ This is not only because they lie flat but also because they have all the features that mum wants. However, when looking for a buggy, it appears their main concerns are:
  1. Is it lightweight?
  2. Is it easy to fold?
  3. Is it compact when folded?
  4. A number of mums like their buggy to have a fully reclined position for when baby has a sleep, but others are not so fussed.
  5. Price – as always.
  6. Colour also has a major effect on the purchase decision.
