Car Seats - Group 2 and 3

T
he market for car seats for older children was given a boost in 2006 when the law was changed to require all children up to the age of 11 to be properly restrained in the car. Many parents simply choose to buy the cheapest they could find (and many retailers, especially the larger ones), had booster cushions for only a fiver.

A booster cushion is better than nothing for protecting a child who is not yet large enough to be restrained safely with a normal seat belt, which, after all are designed to be used by adults. However, there are many safer alternatives. These, generally known as booster seats because they have backs and importantly sides; the latter protecting the child in the event of a side impact.

This generation of children have always been in a car seat of some sort and their parents are more likely to accept the need to purchase these seats, so it is important that retailers have a good selection in store.
