Although many of you will still be thinking about the summer, holidays and coping with the kids being off school, it's really time to be thinking about the autumn and the trade shows and, especially for exhibitors, what advertising is needed.
Exhibiting at a show is an expensive but hopefully worthwhile investment. But to make the most of the opportunity, you need to get the show visitors onto your stand. It is only then that you can persuade them of the quality of your product and the excellence of your company. This is particularly important for Kind + Jugend – a show which is breathtaking in its size. It so easy for buyers to miss that ideal product because there is just so much to see.
So savvy buyers scan whatever information they can. And this is where Nursery Online comes in. Our email newsletters are sent to almost 4000 people each week and we know from the response that it is avidly read – some 40% of our readers open our weekly email within an hour of it being sent out with 70% having read it before going home on Friday and another 17% on the Monday. We will assume that those of you reading it in the early hours of Sunday morning are abroad somewhere!
Our format makes it easy to scan and identify what YOU are interested in. And our Special Newsletters for each of the three major shows this autumn will be in a similar format.
At Nursery Online we know that every penny counts, so why waste it? Place your advertising with the most widely read newsletter AND pay less! Our advertising package for the Show Previews start at a mere £100 and the most expensive isn't that much more.
And if you're exhibiting at more than one show, there are discounts available when booking advertising for both at the same time.
Email sales@nursery-online.com for all the details
Don't be talked into spending more than you need to reach the people who matter!

It's not often that one of our brands gets almost two pages in the Sunday Times – but that's what Norton did last week!
Okay, it was about the motorbikes, but Norton is a legendary British brand and has been around for many years. Sadly, like many British engineering companies, it fell on hard times. In 2008, the brand was bought by Stuart Garner and has begun assembling the bikes beside the Castle Donnington racetrack. Norton bikes have always been one of the greatest and given that the Sunday Times drooled via the medium of text, nothing has changed. The verdict? A great name returns with a vengeance.
It's not a huge step from bikes to pushchairs. “Although we are separate companies, we do share a lot” explains Paul Roberts of Klever Kids. “The two companies have shareholders in common and we share the same ethics – especially when it comes to build quality. Owning a brand such as Norton is a terrific asset. In one word it says everything we want to say!”
For more about Norton pushchairs and car seats head over to www.kleverkids.co.uk or contact Klever Kids on 01332 858238 – but don't start talking about bikes or you'll be there all day!
And for those inclined who want more on the fantastic bike see www.nortonmotorcycles.com

The Lifft baby sling is specially designed for discreet breastfeeding to make daily life easier for out and about mums.
Denise Van Outen recently disclosed her decision to stop breastfeeding due to feeling self-conscious in public, highlighting that many mothers may be discouraged from breastfeeding, without perhaps being aware of alternative solutions or all its benefits.
Lifft slings, the only sling believed to be scientifically proven to improve posture, is a discreet accessory for breastfeeding in public. Lifft is a keen advocate of breastfeeding and was recently involved with National Breastfeeding Week, the annual campaign which aims to raise awareness of the health benefits of breastfeeding, increase social acceptance and encourage friends, family and healthcare professionals to provide support for breastfeeding mothers.
Founder and Managing Director of Lifft slings, Louise Day said: "We are are always trying to promote how practical and fuss-free breastfeeding can be – as well as the nutritional and health benefits that come with it. From personal experience of being a first-time parent, you are always looking for the best way to nurture and care for your little one from the day they are born. This led me to design the 'perfect' sling when I couldn't find one. One of the features of the Lifft baby carrier is that it has been specially developed so it can be used as a discreet ‘hands-free’ way to feed baby. Also, carrying the little one close will increase the desire and ability to breastfeed for longer as it promotes bonding and understanding.'
With at least five alternative ways to wear the Lifft sling, this buckle/clasp free sling is great for newborn babies through toddlerhood. With three different colour combinations to choose from, and sizes from 6 through to 22 (not forgetting S, M and L sizes for new dads too), the Lifft baby sling is fast becoming the must-have accessory for every new parent.

The alma is a beautifully designed folding crib that is made with sustainable wood and stainless steel detailing.
It makes perfect sense if space is at a premium while providing any nursery or home with a touch of contemporary style at the same time. With its simple, patented fold, the alma is the ultimate solution for compact urban spaces, co-sleeping, second homes and for grandparents (or anyone else) who only have young children to stay occasionally.
The alma has two mattress heights, combining the benefits of a newborn bassinet or cradle with a crib or cot that can be used from birth to two years. Like all of bloom’s products, the alma can be quickly and easily assembled with no tools at all. It is also reassuringly strong and well made while being surprisingly easy to fold and move across a room on its four lockable castors.
Throw in the appeal of bloom’s elegant and modern design and it’s no wonder that the alma has become the crib of choice for a growing number of the world’s leading hotels as well as among the many British mothers and fathers who appreciate form, space and style.

Flipper is the fun way to encourage children to use their toothbrush regularly. It’s a toothbrush holder that attaches to bathroom mirrors, tiles or any shiny surface with a suction cup.
Flipper comes in five different animal characters from the Wild Family range, all of which will bring a smile to tired faces in the morning and at bedtime.
As a child takes hold of the toothbrush handle and pulls the cover will simply flip open, and when retuned Flipper will close on itself keeping the toothbrush tidy and protecting the bristles.
Flipper toothbrush holders prevent cross contamination of bacteria when storing the whole family’s toothbrushes in one pot. Toothbrushes can also pick up germs when the toilet is flushed, through tiny water droplets in the atmosphere.

Olivers Babycare, award-winning Devon based online baby products retailer, has removed all back-less child car booster cushions from its website, after research showed that these seats offer no side impact protection during a side on car crash.
The move follows the decision by Britax to stop the manufacture of its Britax Horizon booster cushion, following these safety concerns.
Under current UK law, children below a height of 135 cm (4' 5"), approx 12 years old, are required to use a child booster seat in the car. However, these seats, or booster cushions, are not legally required to have a high back, even though the high back offers greater safety protection, particularly in a side impact collision. Recent research has shown that 1 in 4 car crashes involves a side impact, with 20% of child fatalities occurring in such accidents.
Commenting on the decision by Olivers to sell only high backed booster seats in future, co-owner of Olivers Babycare Julie Baughan said, "Child car booster cushions WITHOUT a high back are still legal, and comply with British safety requirements, but they do not offer so much protection for the child in the event of an accident. We want to be sure that all the child car safety booster seats that we sell offer the maximum, not the minimum, protection for the child. The recent research revealing the high percentage of side impact collisions has confirmed in our minds that we should no longer sell the booster cushions. We applaud the call from Which? for manufacturers of child car seats to stop selling these cushions."
Earlier, Richard Headland, Which? Car Editor said: "Which? welcomes Britax's decision to stop selling its booster cushions, and is calling on other manufacturers to do the same. While backless booster seats are better than nothing, they simply don't provide enough protection."
Olivers Babycare has a wide range of high back child car booster seats, suitable up to the age of 12 years, including the award-winning Kiddy Discovery Pro Car Booster Seat and the Recaro Monza Booster Seat.
